Sileby Good Companions is a group which meets weekly on a Monday morning at the library.   It is run in partnership with the Social Prescribing team from the Charnwood GP Network and has been successfully in place since March 2022.

The aim of the group is for members of our community in Sileby who feel isolated, lonely or lack confidence socially to have a place to get together once a week in a friendly and calming environment.  The group provides an opportunity to meet new people, make new friendships and take part in enjoyable activities.

The overall intention is for those who attend to experience a sense of belonging and to feel that by attending, it is helping to improve their overall wellbeing.

Group activity varies from the weekly quiz, crafts to crossword puzzles, and of course chat along with a refreshment!  The group also go out for lunch every couple of months to a local pub of their choice.

To ensure the longevity of the group and its aims are being met, it is run by two dedicated library volunteers.

Like to come along?
