Your library card gives you the opportunity to check out books and so much more!
We have been run as a local charity by volunteers since 2015, with funding and support from Sileby Parish Council and Leicestershire County Council, to remain open for you!

Borrowing Books
You can borrow up to 24 books for 3 weeks from any Leicestershire Library. After 3 weeks, you can return the books to any Leicestershire Library in person or through the letter box, or look to renew for another 3 weeks in person, online using your library card number and pin, or by phone. You will incur fines if your books are late though all proceeds directly benefit our library!
As well as a wide range of fiction novels, we have audiobooks (charges apply) and large print books in stock, along with a selection of adult non-fiction books and biographies.
If we haven’t got what you are looking for, you can order any book from the entire Leicestershire Libraries catalogue and have it delivered to Sileby Library to collect. There is a £1 charge for this service, but all proceeds go directly to our library. There is no charge for children using this service.

Children’s area
Our designated children’s area offers a variety of board books and picture books as well as junior fiction and non-fiction. You might also be interested to know we also have a teenage/young adult section!
We regularly run activities during school holidays including treasure hunts and craft sessions. Take a look on our events page, visit the library or look at our Facebook page for the latest information about what we have coming up.
eBooks & eAudiobooks
Free to borrow through Borrowbox, you just need you library card number and pin. Just enter ‘Leicestershire libraries’ when it asks for your library.
eMagazines, eAudiobooks & eNewspapers
Borrow and download thousands of free eMagazines and eNewspapers from Leicestershire Libraries using the Libby and PressReader apps.
Computers and printing
We have two public PCs available for free using your library card number and pin.
Printing and photocopying – A Papercut account will be automatically created for you. You can add credit to this account using a debit/credit card or with a voucher bought from the library. Charges: 25p per A4 Black and white page, 50p per A4 Colour page. A3 printing is also available.
Scanning – Scanning is free but you will need to have activated your Papercut account at least 24 hours beforehand.
Laminating – We can laminate documents for you. Please ask one of our volunteers who will be happy to help. Charges apply.
WiFi – The library has free WiFi so you can come and make yourself comfortable with your own device!
Library Hire
The library is available for hire when it is closed to the public, for small groups or gatherings. There is disabled access and a small kitchen for refreshments. For more information, please send us an email to discuss your requirements – info@silebylibrary.org
